Why submit an art portfolio?

Hear it from the experts themselves.

Grades and test scores are no longer the entirety of a student's college applications.

Colleges and universities are looking for multi-faceted, unique, creative individuals who can bring diversity to their campuses. At Creativerse College Art Portfolio, we have made thousands of students reach this point and achieve their dreams.

The college art portfolio is accepted by most colleges and universities, such as Ivy’s, Top 20s, and UC’s, to showcase their skills in the fine and performing arts. For students applying to art schools, the art portfolio tends to be a required part of the process to showcase their talents in their art form of interest.

For those not applying to art schools, an art portfolio is truly the opportunity to set yourself apart from other applicants and showcase your creative thinking, and let college admissions know that you are skilled and dedicated to something outside of your desired field of major.

via Stanford University:

"Of course academic credentials are important, but we're also looking for evidence that this young person has a passion, that he or she will bring something to our community that is unique. We want to hear a 'voice'—that's a critical component."

via Yale University:

"Students commonly want to know what part of the college application “carries the most weight.” The truth is, there are many parts to your application, and together they help us discover and appreciate your particular mix of qualities. Academic criteria are important to Yale’s selective admissions process, but we look at far more than test scores and grades.

Every applicant brings something unique to the admissions committee table. Perhaps one application stands out because of sparkling recommendations, while another presents outstanding extracurricular talent; maybe your personality shines through a powerful written voice, or maybe your keen mathematical mind packs more punch. Our goal is to assemble a diverse, well-rounded student body, and that means admitting exceptional individuals of all types."
