Our story

Our story begins with a group of worried, anxious parents, just as most parents most likely are, from different professional backgrounds, such as interior design, fashion design, graphic design, in New York City. As most parents, we spent hundreds and thousands of dollars each month sending our kids to many after school classes, with no confidence that any of that would actually help our kids go to college. We were desperately searching for the key to making sure our kids could truly stand out in an ocean of applicants with similarly high GPAs, SAT scores, and extracurriculars. Everybody seemed to be doing the same things, and we felt lost and hopeless.

That was when we discovered that a supplemental art portfolio could be submitted, and decided it was our last shot in making our childrens’ dreams come true. We dedicated all our time into putting together art portfolios with our children that could adequately showcase their skills and talents to colleges and show that they had something to offer other than simply having high GPAs and SAT scores. And we set our eyes on one idea: making 3D multimedia art out of a variety of materials that could effectively show our childrens’ creativity and skillsets as well-rounded individuals. We did not limit ourselves to pencil sketches and paintings on canvas. Instead, we created multimedia art sculptures out of reused or recycled materials. Old shoes, photo frames, clothes, paper cups, the possibilities were endless, and we hoped that this could help our children truly express themselves to the colleges they were applying to.

People are so multidimensional, and every person has so many stories to tell – something that cannot be expressed through grades, GPAs, and SAT scores alone. Scores are black and white, while people, their stories, and the unique skills they bring to the table, are incredibly colorful. Submitting an art portfolio allows you a chance to show college admissions your own colors. But not just any artwork - 3D multimedia artwork. Not just pencil drawings and oil paintings which do not allow students to think outside the box.

With our ideas, we found a lot of success. That’s why we began our journey as Creativerse College Art Portfolio Workshop, with the desire to help parents and students like YOU feel much more confident in the process of applying to colleges and find success of your own. We know how you feel - we've been there not too long ago, and we want to help you, because you don’t have to go through this journey alone.
